New captains, new energy
PSL 2025 features six franchise teams, most of which have retained their previous captains. However, there are two notable exceptions.
Quetta Gladiators have named Saud Shakeel as their new skipper, replacing Rilee Rossouw. Karachi Kings, meanwhile, have brought in Australian opener David Warner as captain, generating considerable buzz around the franchise.
Islamabad United continues under the leadership of Shadab Khan.
Shaheen Shah Afridi remains at the helm for Lahore Qalandars.
Mohammad Rizwan leads Multan Sultans once again.
Peshawar Zalmi will be spearheaded by Babar Azam, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketing stars.
Advanced match coverage
This season brings a significant enhancement in production quality. A total of 32 HD cameras, including a buggy cam and upgraded Spidercam, will capture the drama from all angles. The Spidercam now features integrated microphones and speakers, enabling on-field interviews with players during live action.
Adding to the experience, drone cameras will offer unique aerial views, and Augmented Reality (AR) graphics will be integrated into the broadcast for a more immersive fan experience. DRS (Decision Review System) will be available throughout the tournament to maintain high officiating standards.
Tickets and streaming access
Fans in Pakistan can secure their tickets online via the official website, while digital streamers can access matches through multiple platforms. Whether through a smartphone or big screen, PSL 2025 will be more accessible than ever before.
